The French Prefixes PSK Award Series (FPXPA) was devised by the European PSK Club (EPC) on 10^th February 2009. The FPXPA Awards may be claimed by any EPC member (either a licensed radio amateur, club station, or DMS/SWL) eligible under these Rules who can produce evidence in a form of ADIF log of having contacted or monitored amateur stations from France and the French Overseas Departments and Territories with various prefixes by using B(Q)PSK31, B(Q)PSK63, or B(Q)PSK125 modes. The FPXPA III Award may be claimed for contacts with 15 different prefixes, the FPXPA II Award - for contacts with 20 different prefixes, and the FPXPA I Award - for contacts with 25 different prefixes. Any special event station from France with an unique prefix can be used as a «Joker» to replace any one missing ordinary (standard type) prefix. One missing prefix can be replaced for the FPXPA III Award, two prefixes - for the FPXPA II Award, and three prefixes - for for the FPXPA I Award. Contacted French stations don't need to be members of the EPC to be valid for this award series. Credit will be given for contacts made on any of the amateur bands below 30 MHz. Each prefix counts only once (see list below). Contacts made to claim FPXPA awards have no time or date restrictions. Prefixes: The letter (or two letters) + one number combinations which form the first part of the amateur call sign will be considered the standard (ordinary) prefix. Examples: F6, F9, FT5, TMØ, etc. Any difference in the numbering, lettering, or order of same shall constitute a special (unique) prefix, which is valid as a «Joker». Example: TP5ØCE would count as TP5Ø (50th Anniversary of the Council of Europe). A prefix will be considered if licensed by the governing authority, such as ARCEP (Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes), or (CEPT) European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations. In cases of portable operation in France and the French Overseas Departments and Territories, the portable designator would then become the prefix. Portable designators without numbers will be assigned a zero (Ø) at the end of the designator to form the prefix. Example: F/MMØEPC would count as FØ. When claiming a prefix which has been sent as MMØEPC/FG, for example, it is requested that the claimed prefix be listed in the proper alphabetical position, such as FG/MMØEPC. The portable prefix must be an authorized prefix of the area of operation. Maritime mobile, mobile, /A, /AM, /E, /J, /LH, /P, /T or interim license class identifiers do not count as prefixes. All French calls without numbers (if any at all) will be assigned a zero (Ø) plus the first two letters to form a prefix.

Just for the information... As far as we know the present special event stations in continental France use TM and TP prefixes. Special event stations in the overseas collectivities and departments use TO prefix, such as TO8YY from Saint Barthélemy Island. Special event stations in the overseas territories use TX prefix, such as TX5C from Clipperton Island. Most common prefixes on the air are F, FG, FH, FJ, FK, FM, FO, FP, FR, FS, FT, FW, FY, and TK. The special call sign TP2CE belongs to the Council of Europe Radio Amateur Club in Strasbourg. The EPC special event station in France is TMØEPC.

QSL-cards are not required. Awards are issued to the person or club. The person or club can use any legal call sign. Contacts made from club stations or special event stations count to the credit of both the club and the operator. All stations must be operated in accordance with their licensing conditions. Contacts may be made from any location in the same DXCC country. Confirmations from the DMS/SWL stations are not accepted as confirmed contacts. Contacts with ships and boats, anchored or underway, and airborne aircraft, are valid.

Тhe submission for credit of any altered or forged log extractions or, equally, bad behaviour on or off the air which is judged by the European PSK Club to bring a particular programme into disrepute may result in disqualification of the applicant from the Award Programme. The award manager reserves the right to spot call sign for inspection of applied contacts. The purpose of this is not to call into question the integrity of any individual, but rather to ensure the overall integrity of the EPC award program. More difficult attained specialty awards are more likely to be so called. Failure of the applicant to respond to such spot check will result in non-issuance of the EPC award. The decision of the award manager on this and other matters of dispute will be finals.

Awards can be printed with the highest quality and with optimal performance by applicants themselves. The FPXPA Award Series is issued to the EPC members only. Application Procedure

All claims for the EPC awards should be made using our UltimateEPC Award Management Software written by DK5UR. The award applicant should re-submit his application when claiming for higher classes of awards. The award manager will keep all your records in our database. Please make sure before you submit your ADIF log that you have checked it with the appropriate software.
